A Bright White Sparkling Smile

Your smile is the first thing people notice about you – and when you feel good, it shows. Unfortunately, our lifestyles often work against us, with daily habits such as drinking tea, coffee and red wine, and of course smoking, slowly but surely staining our smiles.

Luckily, turning your teeth pearly white is now quick, easy and affordable, so there’s really no reason not to!

Teeth Whitening in Oxford

Tooth discolouration can happen in other ways as well, such as through the use of antibiotics, when a tooth dies, or as a result of a root canal treatment. Or you may just have naturally darker teeth.

There are a number of ways to superficially whiten teeth using over-the-counter products, such as whitening toothpastes. But, although these help to remove plaque and surface stains, they are not able to produce dramatic whitening results.

Whitening gels and whitening strips, which are applied directly onto the surface of your teeth are also available over the counter, but they should be used with care and their effectiveness cannot be assured.

Teeth Whitening Process

We use professional teeth whitening products that are only available via a registered dentist.

  • The treatment is a combination of ‘in office’ and ‘at home’, tray-based system called Illuminé, a whitening gel which is backed by clinical studies. Your first session will be performed by your dentist, with subsequent treatments applied at home, following the easy step-by-step instructions.
  • The whitening gel is applied to the teeth, using a type of mouth guard, for either a few hours daily or overnight, until you are happy with the result.
  • This gentle, predictable and controllable method of whitening can deliver a 6 to 9 shade change in approximately two weeks, although every case is different and the time taken for treatment to work will differ for every patient.
